Class of 2025 Graduation Orders have begunSenior Students/Families,

It is now time to begin the ordering process for the Class of 2025 Graduation. Orders need to be placed through Miners Graduate Services.  Below are the instructions and information for placing your graduation order:
 
  • Orders can be placed online at https://minersgrad.com or click on the flyer below to be redirected to this website.
  • Order online and pick up your Class of 2025 Gear (sweatshirts, bling tassels) during Lunch on Tuesday, September 24th.
  • If you miss ordering online, please turn in the paper order form to the Miners Representative during Lunch on September 24th.
  • Graduation announcements will be distributed in early April. Cap and gown units will be distributed in May.

Downhill Ski Racing Team

Interested in downhill ski racing?  The Eugene Area High School Ski team is open to any high school student in the Eugene/Springfield area. No alpine/downhill ski race experience required but skiers should be intermediate or better to participate. Our season runs from early December through February with strength and conditioning at a Eugene high school twice a week and ski training at Willamette Pass on weekends. Races are at Willamette Pass and Hoodoo.

Mid-Willamette College Fair

    Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend the "Mid-Willamette College Fair" field trip at the University of Oregon's McArthur Court on Thursday, October 10th, from 9:45am - 11:45am.

    The Mid-Willamette College Fair will include over 60 college and university representatives from around the country sharing admissions information, financial aid information, guidance on campus living and transitioning support. 
    The College and Career Center is hosting transportation - Come ride the bus with us! Limited spots available. RSVP ASAP! The first 80 students to reply will get a seat on the field trip.
    Important THREE Must-Do Instructions to Sign up: 
    1. Email Catherine in the College Career Center to reserve your spot on the bus. (moran_c@4j.lane.edu) Include your name and your grade level.
    2. Return signed permission slip by next Monday, September 23rd to the COUNSELING CENTER. (See attachment)
    3. REGISTER HERE!
    YOU MUST DO ALL 3 things listed above!

Volunteer Opportunities for Highlanders

  Hello Highlander!

   Are you looking to earn volunteer hours? Keep reading for a great volunteer opportunity that supports our North region families with childcare.

   Oregon Community Programs (see the attached flyers) is hosting a "Parenting Through Change" parent support group for our local elementary schools including El Camino del Río/River Road and Howard Elementary. 

   Students will:

  •        Help create a safe learning environment through childcare
  •        Be trained with safety and mandatory reporter trainings
  •        Have the opportunity to get workplace training
  •        Will have a supervisor at each session to help if needed.
  •        Be introduced to the OCP staff and services which could open doors for future employment!

   The volunteer commitment:

  •        Work at either El Camino del Río/River Road* or Howard Elementary
  •        10 weeks total
  •        1 session per week for 90 minutes
  •        * Spanish speaking students encouraged to volunteer at El Camino del Río/River Road

Work Study Opportunities at 4J Elementary Schools

Hello NEHS Student,

  •        Do you want a small part-time job working for Eugene 4J School District?
  •        Are you 16 years old or older?
  •        Do you have 2 hours per day available, Monday - Friday, anytime before 4pm?
  •        GPA requirement: 2.5 or higher

   Two of our local North region elementary schools are looking to hire a NEHS student. Spring Creek Elementary and River Road El Camino Elementary are both hiring Work Study students for their "Front Office Aide" positions. ** Students who speak Spanish are especially encouraged to apply for the River Road El Camino position.

   This position is 2 hours a day in the front office helping file paperwork, answering the phone, running notes to classes, and fulfilling other general office duties. Students must be available to work for the entire school year. Pay is minimum wage = $14.70/hr.

NEHS Cafeteria is Hiring

   Are you looking for a job? Do you want to work right here at your own high school? 

   NEHS is HIRING 4-6 students in the CAFETERIA!! This is a great opportunity to learn valuable skills, build up your resume, and earn extra $$! Our cafeteria needs your help with the breakfast and lunch service. The pay is minimum wage at $14.70/hour.

   The Food Service Assistant position is open to students who are available approximately 1 or 2 hours per day, throughout the entire school year. 

   Available shifts:

  •        Before school: 7:30am - 8:30am
  •        The class period before lunch (on A days 2nd period; on B days 6th period)
  •        During lunch service
  •        The class period after lunch (on A days 4th period; on B days 7th period)

   Duties include a variety of skills including food preparation, serving, and cleaning & sanitation tasks. 

   Skills Needed:

  •        Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  •        Ability to apply safe work practices in the performance of work.
  •        Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with staff.

   Requirements:

  •        Student must be 16-y.o. 
  •        Food Handler's Card - or a plan to get one if hired. (We can help you with this piece!)

Please take a flyer in with you and present it to the cashier when placing or paying for your order. The Class of 2025 greatly appreciates your support!
